NatWest retail share offer

The government have announced their intention to sell part of their shareholding in NatWest, potentially resulting in a retail share offer.

What is a retail share offer?

It’s an opportunity for individual investors to purchase shares, either from a company or direct from the government.

Why is the NatWest retail share offer happening?

In the 2024 budget, the chancellor announced that the government intends to sell part of its shareholding in NatWest. This could be as early as summer 2024, subject to market conditions.

The NatWest share offer could include a discounted share price however, this has not yet been confirmed. The offer is likely to be open for a limited period and there may be only a short amount of notice before it happens.

When will the offer happen?

It’s likely to happen this summer, but no date has been announced at this time.

How to get involved.

The Chancellor is yet to announce full details of the offer, including who can take part, how many shares they can
buy and what the price will be.

We’ll update this page as more information is released.
