Please remember that the value of an investment and the income from it can go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested. We don't give advice so if you are in any doubt about making your own investment decisions we recommend you seek advice from a suitably qualified financial adviser. There will normally be a charge for that advice. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change in the future.

What is a stocks and shares ISA?

A Stocks and Shares ISA is a type of Individual Savings Account (ISA) which is efficient to use. You pay your money into the ISA and choose where you want to invest it.

It can give you:

  • Tax-free growth – you won’t pay UK Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax or Dividends Tax, so you can keep more money for yourself.
  • £20,000 annual allowance (subject to change) –you can invest up to £20,000 into your Stocks and Shares ISA this tax year.
  • Simple withdrawals – if you need to, or invest for the long term - the recommended being 5+ years.

When you open a Stocks and Shares ISA with IWeb, you automatically get a separate Share Dealing Account too. This means you can keep investing if you reach your £20,000 ISA allowance. It’s the best of both worlds.
