How secure will my finances and share holdings be with IWeb?
Your UK shares are held through our Nominee Company within CREST (the UK securities settlement system) to which stringent legal safeguards apply. Overseas stocks are held with our custodian. All of your UK and overseas share holdings are held within our nominee service under strict adherence to FSA safe custody rules.

Your cash holdings are segregated and held in accordance with strict compliance with FSA client money rules.

How is my IWeb account protected?
We've invested in the very latest technology to protect your accounts, including:

Firewall protection to stop unauthorised access and protect the information on our systems

Protection of your personal data using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption. Double-clicking the yellow padlock at the bottom-right of the browser window allows you to view the security certificate, which confirms you are on a trusted, secure site

Secure sign-in - you can only access your account once you have entered your User ID and Password, and the answer to one of the ‘memorable questions’ you set up when you registered (a temporary cookie is created for the duration of your session)

A time-out facility which automatically signs you out after 10 minutes of inactivity (to continue share dealing online, simply sign in again)

You can be assured that we review our security arrangements on a regular basis. Whilst we have incorporated many security features, and bearing in mind the majority of fraudulent cases are due to carelessness with passwords etc, we have no control and accept no liability over the environment you choose to use to access the Internet i.e. at work, internet café etc.

We suggest that if you have to use a shared environment that you change your password on a secure PC i.e. at home, at your earliest convenience.
